“Dear John and Devereaux: I am the Head of Lower School …"
Dear John and Devereaux,
I am the Head of Lower School at Shore Country Day School in Beverly, MA. I am writing to express how incredibly pleased we have been with Kanoe Lum as our Carney Sandoe representative for elementary positions over the past two hiring seasons. Kanoe has made an effort to get to know Shore, and our faculty. She has visited the school twice to offer support to our teaching assistants as they set out on job searches for lead positions in other schools. Kanoe has taken the time to truly get to know who we are as a school, and makes specific recommendations based on this knowledge. Professional, sincere, knowledgable, and supportive, Kanoe is a gem to work with, and I wanted to be sure that your company appreciates what a valuable asset she is!
Best regards,
Elizabeth U. MacCurrach

Placement Associate Jenny Moyer visits 10 schools in China…
After a week visiting a number of exceptional independent schools in Beijing and Shanghai, Jenny returned to CS&A ready to share her unique experiences.

As Jenny explained, “The beauty about these schools was that they were international melting pots. Walking down the hallways and strolling across the playing fields, you would hear at least six or seven languages being spoken. Korean, German and Mandarin one minute, Afrikaans, Japanese or English the next. It was really quite remarkable.
I think it would be an amazing learning experience and valuable lesson on global awareness not only for the people who go there to teach, but for their own families, as well.”

This year CS&A has dramatically increased its international recruitment efforts, with visits to China, England, Spain, Poland, and Bangkok. Interested candidates should contact their Placement Associate to find out more about international opportunities.
CS&A steps up international teacher placement, executive search and consulting assignments.
For nearly 30 years, CS&A has assisted schools around the globe in recruiting and placing highly qualified teachers, administrators and heads of school. We have candidates with international experience in every subject area – math, science, humanities, languages, the arts – as well as a range of administrative areas (superintendents, principals, deans, development directors, admissions, IB coordinators, college and guidance counselors).
Dr. D. Ralph Davison, who recently returned from several international consulting assignments on behalf of CS&A, continues to work with heads and boards on issues such as governance and planning. Recent assignments included work in Warsaw, Taipei and Bangkok. This October in Bangkok, Dr. Davison will be presenting at a workshop for heads of school, and he will also host a session at the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) conference in February 2008 in New York City.
Additionally, on the teacher and administrative placement side, Jenny Moyer of the Placement Group will embark upon a 10-day visit to China in late October, where she will be visiting a number of international schools. For some of these schools, the 2007-08 recruitment year will be their first year using CS&A’s faculty recruitment services.
