All About CS&A@TABS

It's here! Our first hiring conference of the season is just two days away on Friday, December 1. Hiring contacts from the nation's top boarding schools and CS&A candidates will be descending upon the Marriott Copley Place Hotel in Boston looking to make the perfect match. Here's everything you need to know about this exciting event.

1. Event Schedule

School and candidate registration opens at 7:30 a.m. outside the Gloucester Room. When you arrive at the hotel, follow the signs for our event to check in. You'll receive a name tag and be shown where you can wait in between interviews if you're a candidate, or you'll be given a table number if you're from a hiring school. Light breakfast refreshments will be available. Interviews run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

At noon in the Arlington Room, join us for “All About Boarding,” a special presentation given by CS&A and TABS. Looking for some extra insight into boarding schools? Don’t miss this informational session to learn more about what makes working at a boarding school special and unique. Gain valuable tips on how to find your best-fit boarding school opportunity and hear what you need to know in order to thrive at these exceptional schools. Presented by Andy Hirt, Director of Member Relations & Association Advancement at TABS, and Jonathan Ball, Director of Recruitment at CS&A, this session also includes lunch!

2. The Interviews

Interviews will take place in the Gloucester Room. Each school is assigned a table number, and candidates can view table assignments on the large video screens in our event space. Locate the table of the schools you are interviewing with, then when it's time for your scheduled interview, approach the table at your assigned time.

While most schools preschedule their interviews for this event, sometimes cancellations or other circumstances cause schools to schedule interviews on-site. Be sure to continue to check the conference module for any changes in your schedule. If you have openings in your schedule, you can also talk to your Placement Team about potentially trying to fill them. Because most schools have full schedules, we don't encourage you coming prepared to approach schools directly at their tables. Instead, use the Messages feature in the conference module to reach out to any schools you have an interest in.

If you're a school attending our event, be sure to use the conference module (separate from ORM!) to schedule your interviews for the day. Through the module you can also request that CS&A build your schedule for you.

3. What to Bring and Wear

You don't need to bring much other than a charged device with which to view the conference module, extra copies of your resume (just in case–schools will already have access to your resume), and a positive attitude! Dress is business formal. You should look professional and polished.

4. In Case of Emergencies

Both attending candidates and schools should have received information with an emergency phone number to call in case of travel delays or last-minute cancellations. Be sure you have this number readily available in case you need to use it on Friday.

5. Must-Do's Before the Event

The #1 must-do ahead of our conference is to log into the conference module! Whether you're a candidate or school, you have several action items you should complete ahead of the event in order to ensure the best experience. Check out these tips for candidates and hiring schools.

We're looking forward to a busy day of interviews! CS&A is also exhibiting in the exhibitor hall during the full TABS Annual Conference. Stop by our table to say hello!
