Becky is a member of our Search and Consulting Groups. She helps lead head of school and key administrator retained searches, and consults with schools on topics of governance and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Becky joined us after having served as President of the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation since 2013. On behalf of the foundation, she worked especially closely with the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa.
Becky’s independent school experience is deep, serving as Associate Head of School at Phillips Academy from 2000-2009 and Assistant Head from 1996-2000 (helping to lead the school with our very own Barbara Chase). Prior to her roles in the Head of School's office, Becky was Dean of Community Affairs and Multicultural Development, and before that was a college counselor and residential dean. She has held posts in education or social work for more than 40 years at a variety of institutions around the world, and has presented at conferences the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) People of Color Conference, the NAIS Annual Conference, and the Harvard Medical School Department of Continuing Education.
