David is a senior consultant with a focus on international headships. He also works as a consultant to international schools in effective trusteeship and has presented workshops on good governance at regional conferences. He is the co-author of the international version of the NAIS Trustee Handbook. David has been involved in a number of international Head of School searches and consultancies.
In his administrative work, David served as the head of four international schools, including the American Embassy School in New Delhi and Cairo American College. Immediately before joining CS&A, David was the executive director of the Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools, a position he held for 20 years. He has also served on numerous boards, including the Fulbright Commission in Greece, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), and the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE).
Education & Interests
David graduated with honors from Marquette University of California with a B.A. in philosophy and theology, from the University of Wisconsin with a M.S. in curriculum and instruction and, following that, an administrative credential.
He has three grown sons, each of whom graduated from a different international school. He and his partner live in Athens and spend as much time as possible in their 125-year-old stone home in a seaside village in the Peloponnese.
David enjoys reading, travel, staying connected with family and friends…and being of service.
