John Clark Senior Consultant

John is a Senior Consultant in the Development & Finance Practice.

John’s recent assignments include retained searches for Hawken School, Northfield Mount Hermon, Westminster School, Asheville School, Shanghai American School, King’s Academy, Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences, New Canaan Country School, and Seoul Foreign School.

Previous Experience

John’s school experience includes stints at both boarding and day schools, in the United States and internationally. Right out of college, John taught at the Stevenson School for two years and then at a public middle school in Vermont before pursuing a career in advertising and newspapers for the next 15 years. He joined Loomis Chaffee in 1991 as director of planned giving and spent 18 years at the school, leading the Advancement office for 12 years and overseeing the school’s $114 million comprehensive capital campaign. He became director of advancement at the American School in London in 2008, serving there for three years before joining Carney, Sandoe & Associates.

Education & Interests

John attended Moses Brown School before graduating from Phillips Academy. He then went on to Yale, where he received a B.A. in American Studies.

John has three children, all of whom are graduates of Loomis Chaffee. He lives in Vermont and enjoys hiking, biking, and skiing. He also serves on the Boards of Grace Cottage Family Health and Hospital (where he also is president of the Grace Hospital Foundation Board) and the Manchester Community Library. Additionally, he is a member of the Andover Alumni Council.
