What is a quote that you love?

“I know that my achievement is quite ordinary. I am not the only man to seek his fortune far from home, and certainly I am not the first. Still, there are times I am bewildered by each mile I have traveled, each meal I have eaten, each person I have known, each room in which I have slept. As ordinary as it all appears, there are times when it is beyond my imagination.” –  Jhumpa Lahiri, Interpreter of Maladies

Who was your favorite teacher in school?

Peter Durnan – he was my orientation hike leader, sophomore English teacher, senior AP Lit teacher, varsity soccer coach, advisor, and friend.

What is your favorite book?

All-time favorites are “Straight Man” by Richard Russo, “Interpreter of Maladies” by Jhumpa Lahiri, and “Before You Know Kindness” by Chris Bohjalian. For quicker reads, I will pick up anything by Liane Moriarty; for thrillers, my new favorite author is Ruth Ware. If I’m reading to my kids, “Giraffes Can’t Dance,” “Blueberries for Sale,” and “Circus Ship” are my go-to options!
