Sherry graduated from Cheyney University in Cheyney, PA with a B.S. in Education, then from West Chester University in West Chester, PA with an M.A. in Public Administration. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA with an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Organization.
Sherry served as the founding director of the Independent School Consortium (ISC) of Greater Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA, an organization that works to support the hiring and retention of faculty of color nationally. Sherry previously worked in school admission, and also served as a classroom teacher in both public and independent schools.
Sherry served as a trustee for Saint Anne’s Episcopal School, a board member of the Food Bank of Delaware, an advisory member for the Wilmington Montessori School, and a member of the development committee for the Community Partnership School (CPS) in Philadelphia.
Recently, Sherry was honored by People of Color in Delaware Valley Independent Schools for her leadership and commitment to education and diversity. Sherry is a 2013 recipient of the NAIS Diversity Leadership Award.
