Myles Amend

Myles Amend is a Consultant with our Search & Consulting Group.
Myles brings more than four decades of leadership experience across independent schools, nonprofit organizations, and cultural institutions. Most recently, he served as Associate Head of School for Advancement & Operations at Trinity School (NY), a role he assumed after more than 20 years of leadership as Associate Head of School for Advancement and as Director of Development & Alumni Relations. At Trinity, Myles was responsible for the vision, planning, and execution of all institutional advancement efforts, helping to raise more than $325 million in operating, endowment, and capital support. His leadership included the successful completion of multiple landmark campaigns.
Prior to Trinity, Myles served as Deputy Director for Institutional Advancement and Governance at the Museum of the City of New York, where he led development efforts, staffed multiple board committees, and served on senior management and exhibition planning teams. During his tenure, he created the Historic New York City Business Award Dinner, which raised more than $4 million in its first four years. He also served as Project Director for the acclaimed exhibition This Land Is Your Land: The Life and Legacy of Woody Guthrie. Earlier in his career, Myles was Principal of Tampa Catholic High School, where he led strategic planning, restructured administrative and advancement functions, completed major campus improvements, and guided the school through an accreditation review. He began his advancement career as Director of Development at Rice High School in Harlem and he started his professional journey as a teacher of history and religious studies at Blessed Sacrament-St. Gabriel High School.
Myles has remained deeply engaged in the broader advancement of independent school communities through extensive professional service. He has held multiple leadership roles with CASE, including service on the Commission on Philanthropy and the Independent School Leadership Group Steering Committee, and he currently serves on the US/Canada Regional Council. He is the 2026 recipient of The Robert Bell Crow Memorial Award, which recognizes school advancement professionals for their distinguished service to the profession, their school, and CASE. He is Chair of the De La Salle Academy Board of Trustees; a former trustee and board chair at West Side Montessori School, where he also chaired the head of school search in 2024; and a past president of the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He also brings consulting experience in strategic planning and capital campaign management for schools and nonprofit organizations.
Myles holds master’s degrees in Educational Administration with a concentration in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College and in History from New York University, as well as a B.A. in History, cum laude, from Iona University.
Myles and his husband, their college-age daughter, and their dogs, Aengus and Charlie, live on the North Fork of Long Island and in New York City. He is an avid cook, a beach bum at heart, and looks forward to re-engaging with his study of Irish history, literature, and language in the years ahead.
