Marguerite Lloyd

Marguerite Lloyd is a Senior Consultant for the firm’s Head of School and Key Administrator Practices. During her tenure with Carney, Sandoe, & Associates, over the past decade Marguerite has developed a deep network of education professionals. Her work has centered on retained head of school and key administrator searches, both nationally and with a particular focus in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Marguerite’s recent assignments have included search work at Harpeth Hall (TN), Webb School (TN), Hockaday School (TX), Asheville School (NC), Lovett School (GA), Westminster School (GA), St. Annes-Belfield (VA), Woodbury Forest (VA), Holy Innocents Episcopal School (GA), and Altamont School (AL).
Marguerite brings a combination of education, non-profit management, and legal experience to the Search Group. She began her career as an Upper School English teacher at La Reine High School (MD), and St. Agnes School (now St. Stephens St. Agnes School, VA). She then earned a law degree and practiced in Chicago, Sewanee, and Boston, including serving as General Counsel at the University of the South and teaching in an adjunct capacity at George Washington Law School in Washington, D.C.
Marguerite attended St. Catherine’s School (VA) and then earned an A.B. from Georgetown University, an M.A. in English from The University of Virginia, a J.D. from the University of Virginia, and an M.P.A. from Harvard University.
She is a parent of two and served as President of the Parents Association at Buckingham, Brown, and Nichols Lower School (MA), a parent representative at The Winsor School (MA), an admissions interviewer at the Roxbury Latin School (MA), a parent representative at National Cathedral School (DC), and a member of the Parents Association at St. Albans School (DC). She currently serves on the Board of her hometown bank (MS), as the Chair-elect for the Board of the South Cumberland Community Fund, and as a member of the Board of Regents for the University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
Marguerite enjoys reading, travel, entertaining friends, and relishing the outdoors in Sewanee.
