Todd Bland is a Senior Consultant and Leadership Support Consultant (LSC) /Coach in our Search & Consulting Group.

Since joining Carney Sandoe and Associates, Todd has been active in both our Search and Consulting practices. He currently serves 14 different clients as a leadership support consultant/executive coach and in the past year has helped lead four different head of school searches and two division head searches at outstanding schools across the country. His list of clients include: Phillips Academy Andover, Belmont Hill School, Blair Academy, Cathedral School for Boys,  Davidson Day School, The Hill School, Newman School, Noble and Greenough School, Salisbury School, School Year Abroad, Suffield Academy, and The Seven Hills School. Todd also serves as a leadership support consultant for two corporate entities – Beacon Hill Associates and Method1 Advertising.

Before joining CS&A Todd served as Head of School at Milton Academy (MA) from 2009 to 2023, where he led major initiatives such as a comprehensive school belonging assessment, a curricular renewal protocol, multiple major building projects, a $185 million fundraising campaign, and the creation of the school’s 21st century comprehensive Strategic Plan. Before Milton, he held leadership roles at The Seven Hills School, serving as Interim Head of School and Head of Upper School, where he led faculty salary and financial aid campaign initiatives. Prior to Seven Hills, Todd worked at The Belmont Hill School, where he significantly increased applications and selectivity as Director of Admissions. He began his career as a history and Spanish teacher, advisor and three sport coach.

Throughout his career in academic leadership, Todd has been known for his adroit handling of high profile and challenging school matters, and increasingly has been called upon by various organizations to lend his expertise on issues related to crisis management, communications, and strategy related to governance and risk management.

Todd holds a degree from Bowdoin College and a Master of Education from Harvard University. He has served as Board Chair for the National Association of Schools in Partnership (NNSP), serves on the boards of The Steppingstone Foundation, The Epiphany School, Horizons Westminister and has received numerous accolades, including the Milton Medal. Todd and his wife Nancy live in Boston’s Back Bay and enjoy spending time with their family.
