Chris Boyle is a Consultant with the Search & Consulting Group.

Chris brought more than twenty-five years of work in higher education and K-12 independent schools when he joined CS&A in 2020. He most recently served as Assistant Head of School and Academic Dean at North Shore Country Day School outside of Chicago. Over the more than decade he was in the role, he was instrumental in the school’s institutional and strategic initiative leadership. Additionally, he oversaw all academic departments, guided the development of the JK-12 educational program, and led faculty recruitment, hiring, retention, professional development, and evaluation. Before serving as its Assistant Head, Chris was NSCD’s Director of College Counseling after having worked in the world of college admissions.

Chris’s breadth of experience empowers his work at CS&A, which has included more than seventy-five searches and consulting projects. Searches include Head of School searches at Bennett Day School (IL), The Kessler School (TX), Quest Academy (IL); Associate/Assistant Head and Academic Leadership searches at The Episcopal Academy (PA), Isidore Newman School (LA), and United Nations International School (NY); Division Director searches at The Bush School (WA), Hillbrook School (CA), John Thomas Dye School (CA), San Francisco Friends School (CA), Sidwell Friends School (DC), and Viewpoint School (CA); Director of Admission and Enrollment Management searches at The Birch Wathen Lenox School (NY), Calhoun School (NY), Columbus School for Girls (OH), and McLean School (MD); and Director of College Counseling Searches at Agnes Irwin School (PA), Chinese International School (Hong Kong), Francis Parker School (CA), and The Nightingale-Bamford School (NY). He is known for his dedication to his client schools and is especially proud of the number of organizations that have turned to him to lead second and third searches.

Chris has been a leader in developing and delivering CS&A’s implicit bias training for search committees and Member School leadership and hiring teams, drawing on almost two decades of experience. He is regularly invited to speak at conferences and workshops on a wide range of topics.

Other past professional affiliations include serving as a Board of Directors member and Scholar Selections Chair for Point Foundation (the largest LGBTQ+ scholarship-granting organization in the U.S.), Mastery Transcript Consortium Site Director, Intercultural Development Inventory Qualified Administrator, Independent School Experiential Education Network, and member of ISACS accreditation teams.

Chris earned his B.A. from Knox College (IL). He enjoys exploring the food, visual art, and live music cultures wherever his travels take him. He lives in Southern California with his husband.
