Madeleine Maceda Heide is a Senior Consultant in our International Schools Practice.

Madeleine has spent 40 years in various leadership positions in international schools and global organizations. With her breadth of experience and her rich multicultural background, Madeleine continues to invest in developing resilient leaders, energizing communities toward meaningful change, and building healthy learning organizations.

Madeleine served as Superintendent at Asociación Escuelas Lincoln in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was Head of School at Academia Cotopaxi American International School in Quito, Ecuador. She was the Assistant Superintendent at the American School of Bombay in India. She served as the Lower Primary Principal at Hong Kong International School and was the Founding Principal of the Early Childhood Centre at the International School of Brussels.

Additionally, Madeleine served as President of the AMISA Board (American International Schools in the Americas), served on the AAIE Board (Association for the Advancement of International Education) and was a member of the NESA Professional Development Council (Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools).

In addition to her role at Carney Sandoe & Associates, she is also the Lead Facilitator for AMISA’s Women in Leadership program and mentors senior and aspiring leaders.  She currently serves on the board of two fast growing non-profit organizations that are making significant impact upon the international school landscape – the Multilingual Learning Research Center and the Association for the Advancement of Instructional Coaching in International Schools.

After a lifetime as a global nomad, Madeleine has replanted herself in Canada, expanding her identity as a modern elder, long-life learner and Filipino-Canadian.
