Michael Robinson is a Search Consultant with the Search & Consulting Group.

Michael is a seasoned leader specializing in head of school searches and leadership coaching.  Most recently, he served as Interim Head of School at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Day School in Coconut Grove, FL, where he guided the institution through a critical leadership transition, stabilizing operations and positioning the school for sustained growth. That role capped more than 23 years as a Head of School across a diverse range of independent school settings.

His search work at Carney Sandoe includes Head of School placements at Athens Academy (Athens, GA), Berkeley Preparatory School (Tampa, FL), The Cathedral School for Boys (San Francisco, CA), John Bapst Memorial High School (Bangor, ME), and The MacDuffie School (Granby, MA). He also co-led the search for the Director of College Counseling at Cardinal Gibbons High School (Raleigh, NC) and works with school leaders as a certified executive coach.

Prior to his consulting work, Michael served as Interim Head at St. Luke’s Episcopal School (San Antonio, TX), St. Martin’s Episcopal Day School (Atlanta, GA), and Stuart Hall School (Staunton, VA) demonstrating his range across urban and regional school communities. His earlier career includes Head of School roles at The Park School, Lake Forest Country Day School, and St. Nicholas School spanning PreK-8, K-12, coeducational, day, and boarding environments across New England, the Midwest, the Mid-Atlantic, and the South.

His board service includes the National Association of Episcopal Schools (NAES), the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association, the Tennessee Association of Episcopal Schools, and Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA.

Michael holds a Master of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is an ordained Episcopal priest, a certified executive coach through the Center for Executive Coaching, a certified practitioner of Hogan Assessment and PXT Select Assessments and holds a certification in Transitional Ministry from the Interim Ministry Network. He resides in Freeport, Maine, and enjoys hiking, sailing, pickleball, biking, and golf.
