Rachel Merchant
Senior Associate, Technology & Operations

Rachel Merchant is the Senior Associate of Technology and Operations. In her current role at Carney, Sandoe & Associates, she is a member of the operations, technology, and placement teams. Her role is focused on improving internal and external processes, especially through database automation, project management of advancing our various user platforms, and managing our internal and external technology requests. She assists Scott Roy on Computer Science and Technology placements and is a member of the conference team, aiding in attendee experience, conducting technology setup, and representing her placement area.
While completing her bachelor’s degree, Rachel performed with Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps which launched her career as a choreographer and color guard director for high schools and universities throughout southern Louisiana, including Southeastern University and Tulane University. She moved to Houston, Texas to continue performing with Cypress Independent Color Guard while choreographing and instructing at Cy-Fair High School. Rachel turned to an office setting as an Administrative Assistant, quickly advancing to Operations Specialist working simultaneously in the operations, technology, and finance departments as she found a love for developing processes and aligning company approach to scheduling, project management, and workplace habits. She transitioned to Boston, Massachusetts, where she has continued in operations at Carney Sandoe, climbing from Operations Associate to Senior Operations Associate before shifting into her current role as Senior Associate, Technology and Operations. Unable to leave color guard behind, she became a member of Blessed Sacrament Color Guard, earning a WGI World Class silver medal in 2023, and spent the following year choreographing and instructing at Blackstone-Millville Regional High School.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at LSU and attended St. Amant High School. She joined Carney, Sandoe in 2021 and lives in Boston, Massachusetts.
