Stuart Lemay is a Placement Associate at Carney, Sandoe & Associates, where she leads the World Language practice. She works closely with educators and schools to facilitate purposeful and rewarding placements, helping passionate language teachers find opportunities in independent schools across the U.S. and abroad. Stuart supports candidates throughout every stage of the job search—from refining application materials to navigating interviews—while partnering with schools to identify and hire exceptional educators. She previously worked as a Placement Counselor on the STEM team.

Before joining the firm, Stuart served as Assistant Director of Admissions at Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island—a role she secured through Carney Sandoe. During her time at the Abbey, she also served as a houseparent, advisor, and coach for the squash and tennis teams. This multifaceted experience deepened her appreciation for the energy, complexity, and impact of boarding school life.

Stuart holds a B.A. in Educational Studies from Dickinson College, where she was a member of the varsity squash and tennis teams. A proud graduate of Westover School and the daughter of two lifelong educators, Stuart brings firsthand insight into the independent school world—as well as the candidate experience at CS&A. She joined the firm in 2021 and lives in Boston’s North End with her dog, Paul, one of CS&A’s Chief Morale Officers.
