Simultaneously, he served as Technology Training Specialist and Support Team Lead for Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, MI. Jeremy has also held the position as Director of Information Technology at Savannah Country Day School from 2014-2018 and currently is completing a role as Technology Advisor at Applied Imagining in Grand Rapids, MI.  He holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Central Michigan University and an M.Ed in Technology from Grand Canyon University.

There, she held several senior leadership roles including Director of Student Activities, Assistant Director of Upper School and most recently Director of the Middle School.  She has also held positions at Peddie School and Charles Wright Academy.  A Volunteer at the Flex School for gifted students, Elaine holds an M.Ed. in Independent School Leadership from Columbia University, an M.A. in English from Middlebury College and a B.A. in English from Northwestern University.

The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has appointed Paul M. Escala as the new Superintendent of Schools. Paul joins the Archdiocese with a career spanning twenty years leading institutions across the educational spectrum in California – district, charter and private.  He has served as Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD); Chief of Staff to California Secretary for Education Richard J. Riordan; Director of LAUSD Joint Use Development; Senior Consultant with the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education; and Director of Operations for the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, among others. Most recently, Paul led Grimmway Schools to accelerated growth – building a new campus and doubling enrollment. Prior to his role with Grimmway Schools, he served as president and CEO of St. John Bosco High School from 2010-2016. He holds a BA in Urban & Regional Studies from Cornell University, an MA in Arts & Educational Studies from Loyola Marymount University, and is a 2018 Fellow at Pahara Institute, Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Previously, she served a 5-year tenure at Seven Hills School in Cincinnati, OH serving respectively as African American History Teacher and Director of Diversity and Community Outreach. Michelle began her career at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD in 1999 when she first served as Math Resource Teacher and then a Fourth Grade Teacher. She holds a BA in Russian, as well as Psychology, from Middlebury College, VT, and an M.Ed. in Educational Policy Studies from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Founded in 1728, Norfolk Academy is an independent, non-sectarian, co-ed day school of approximately 1200 students in grades 1-12. He transitioned to the independent school world in 1998 where he served respectively as Director of Multicultural Affairs/Assistant Director of Admissions and Assistant Director of Boarding Admissions at McCallie School in Tennessee. Austin Waldorf is delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan L. Silver, PhD as their next Head of School, beginning July 1. Dr. Silver has enjoyed a stellar 30-year career in private and independent school leadership including Head of School at Maui Preparatory Academy (Napili, Hawaii) and The Village School (Houston, TX), and as Assistant Head of School at The Emery/Weiner School, also in Houston. Prior to serving in administration, Dr. Silver was a history, economics and psychology teacher, as well as a tennis and baseball coach in Pennsylvania. He was also the Founding Director of the Pennsylvania Regional Art and Music Day Camp dedicated to the fine and performing arts. Dr. Silver received his PhD in History & Policy, with specializations in the Histories of Education, Childhood, and Youth from Carnegie Mellon University (Pennsylvania). He earned a Masters degree in History & Policy, also from Carnegie Melon and a Masters in Educational Thought & Policy, from University of Rochester (New York).

After beginning his career in the Banking industry as a Loan Officer, Michael went transitioned to the world of education in 1988 as an Administrator, Teacher and Coach at St. Bernard Preparatory School in Cullman, AL. He went on to become the Principal of Holy Spirit School in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1998. Terence founded his own soccer camp in 2002 and served as the Director for 14 years.  He began his career at St. Louis University High where he served as Teacher, Coach and Class Moderator from 1992-2002.  He holds a BA in History & Education and an MA in Urban Affairs, both from Saint Louis University.

This fall Angela leaves Christ the King School of Burlington, VT where she has served as Principal since 2013 to become the next Executive Director for Catholic Academy.  Angela began her career in 1995 in Los Angeles where she spent a decade holding various Assistant roles in the Entertainment Industry, including the Drew Carey Show, Flying Tiger Films, and Fox Latin American Channel.  She entered the education world in 2005 where she was an Elementary Teacher at American Martyrs School in Manhattan Beach. After three years she transitioned to Vice Principal.  In 2010 she served three years as Principal of St. Mary's School in Middlebury, VT. Before starting at Christ the King she served a year as Interim Assistant Superintendent of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington, VT. Angela holds a BA in Communications as well as an M.Ed in Catholic Inclusive Education both from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
