Benchmark School is delighted to announce the appointment of their third Head of School, Chris Hancock, effective July 2020. He leaves Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA, where he has served several roles throughout his career, most recently as Assistant Head of School for Student Life since 2013. Chris has also served as Director of Development at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City; Director of Development and Alumni Relations at The Sage School in Foxboro, MA; Director of Development and Director of Residential Life at Eagle Hill, and Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Coordinator at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, MA. He holds a BA in Economics from Haverford College and an Ed.M. in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

Benchmark School enrolls approximately 160 full-time students ages 6 to 14 from the five-county Philadelphia region, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. In addition, a five-week Summer Camp serves approximately 230 children who benefit from reading and writing instruction beyond the regular school year, as well as enjoy a recreational day camp experience. On 23 acres of wooded land in Media, PA, Benchmark develops each child’s capacity to find successful pathways to academic achievement and social growth.

After completing a 21-year tenure at St. Anne's School of Annapolis in Maryland, in July of 2020 Duke will welcome Lisa as their next Head of School. Beginning in 1998, Lisa served as Associate Head of School, Curriculum, and Professional Development at St. Anne's. In 2012 she became Head of School. Lisa began her career at The Laurel School in Ohio where she taught and served as Curriculum Committee Chair from 1988 to 1993. She has also held roles as Education Specialist in Ohio schools and Editor for Contemporary Women's Issues, a Responsive Database service in Ohio.  A 2014 Klingenstein Fellow at Columbia University's Teacher College, Lisa holds a BA in Religion from Oberlin College and an M.Ed in Educational Administration from John Carrol University.

Founded in 1941, Duke School is an independent PK- 8th grade project-based school. With an enrollment of 490, students leave Duke School with the ability to think independently and critically. They are prepared to take their place in the global community in which collaboration and strong communication skills are essential.

Previously, she served as President of Girard College in Philadelphia from 2009-2012. Autumn began her career at Mercersburg Academy, PA, where she served as Director of Special Programs from 1994-1996. She went on to hold positions as Upper School Counselor and Community Service Coordinator at Breck School in Minneapolis (1996-1999), Upper School Dean at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC (2000-2003), and Assistant Principal at Friends Seminary in New York (2003-2009). A graduate of Collegiate School in Richmond, Autumn holds a B.A. in Rhetoric & Communications Studies from University of Virginia, an M.A in Educational Administration from Columbia Teachers College, and a Ph.D in Higher Education Management from the University of Pennsylvania.

Suzie has held roles as Spanish Teacher at Lexington Montessori School, MA, English Teacher at Escuela Montessori de Valparaiso in Chili, and Spanish Teacher at Concord Academy, MA. Before entering the world of education she served as a Financial Analyst at J.P Morgan, working on projects in New York, London, and Tokyo from 1994 to 1997. An avid volunteer for organizations including Cradles to Crayons and COMPASS for Kids, Suzie holds a BA in Economics and Spanish from Wesleyan University, CT and an M.Ed from Harvard Graduate School of Education, MA.

Madrid Montessori is an American school in Madrid’s El Viso neighborhood, which offers an education to children 18 months to 12 years old. Paul joins the Archdiocese with a career spanning twenty years leading institutions across the educational spectrum in California – district, charter and private.  He has served as Chief of Staff to Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD); Chief of Staff to California Secretary for Education Richard J. Riordan; Director of LAUSD Joint Use Development; Senior Consultant with the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education; and Director of Operations for the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools, among others. Most recently, Paul led Grimmway Schools to accelerated growth – building a new campus and doubling enrollment. Prior to his role with Grimmway Schools, he served as president and CEO of St. John Bosco High School from 2010-2016. He holds a BA in Urban & Regional Studies from Cornell University, an MA in Arts & Educational Studies from Loyola Marymount University, and is a 2018 Fellow at Pahara Institute, Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Previously, she served a 5-year tenure at Seven Hills School in Cincinnati, OH serving respectively as African American History Teacher and Director of Diversity and Community Outreach. Michelle began her career at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, MD in 1999 when she first served as Math Resource Teacher and then a Fourth Grade Teacher. She holds a BA in Russian, as well as Psychology, from Middlebury College, VT, and an M.Ed. in Educational Policy Studies from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Stephen holds a BA in Education from University of Maine at Farmington and an M.Ed from University of Maine at Orono.

ASD was established in 1988 by the U.S. Embassy and prominent members of the Qatari community to meet the growing needs of students in Doha.
