Marguerite graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in English, and from the University of Virginia with an M.A. in English. She then graduated from the University of Virginia with a J.D., and from Harvard University with an M.P.A. in Non-Profit Administration.
She served as adjunct faculty at George Washington University School of Law in Washington, DC from 2010-2011; as Director of Special Projects for the Episcopal Diocese of MA in Boston, MA from 1999-2005; as General Counsel for Fairview Medical Services in Boston, MA from 1997-1999; as University Legal Counsel at the University of the South, Sewanee, TN from 1988-1994; as Associate Attorney at Sachnoff Weaver & Rubenstein in Chicago, IL; as Law Clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in Chicago, IL; as the English Teacher for tenth and twelfth grades at St. Agnes School in Alexandria, VA from 1979-1981; and as English Teacher for ninth grade at La Reine High School in Suitland, MD from 1978-1979.

Marguerite attended St. Catherine's School in Richmond, VA. She served as President of the Parents Association at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols Lower School in Cambridge, MA. She was a Class Representative for The Winsor School in Boston, MA, and an Admissions Interviewer for the Roxbury Latin School in West Roxbury, MA. She was also a Class Representative for the National Cathedral School in Washington, DC, and was a Member of Parents Association at St. Alban's School in Washington, DC.
