Early Childhood and Elementary Teaching Jobs

You love children. You truly believe that everything you needed to know, you learned in kindergarten.

You are fascinated by the study of early childhood development, and you are interested in supporting even the littlest future leaders in their personal and academic journeys. If you are interested in the opportunity to teach and mentor early childhood or elementary-aged children, then a career as an elementary school teacher in an independent school could be a good match for you.

Early Childhood and Elementary School Teachers at Independent Schools

Many of CS&A’s client schools embrace missions that aim to cultivate academic success and foster a nurturing, supportive environment for all students from very young ages. Elementary school teachers in independent schools are encouraged to stay up-to-date on the latest child brain and development research and to utilize 21st-century teaching methods to engage and instruct elementary-aged children.

Candidates who have spent a significant amount of time with children — from student teaching jobs, leading camps, or co-teaching, among other activities — are particularly attractive to independent schools. Elementary school teaching candidates should be nurturing, understanding individuals who want to help each individual child find and develop his or her strengths.
