Math Teaching Jobs
You love calculations, graphs, and all things numbers. For you, the logic of mathematics is exciting and intriguing.
In an independent school, the study of math is no longer associated with rote memorization and dry textbook practice problems. Increasingly, independent schools are moving toward a math curriculum that embraces the educational tenets of critical thinking, problem solving, accessing and analyzing information, and growth mindset. The diversity of methods for teaching math has increased exponentially.
Independent school math teachers assist students with understanding concepts rather than just memorizing formulas, how to use technology such as graphing calculators and computers, and how to solve real world mathematical problems. Our client schools are increasingly receptive to multidisciplinary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education models, and math teachers at independent schools might work in tandem with teachers in other departments.
