Previous Experience
Tom brings more than four decades of leadership experience in independent schools to his work at CS&A. Most recently, he served for ten years as Head of School at Holy Child School at Rosemont in Pennsylvania. During his tenure, Tom led a transformative master planning process that doubled the campus footprint, directed an $8 million capital campaign, and guided the school through the COVID-19 pandemic—all while achieving record enrollment. He also spearheaded a successful rebranding effort, set new benchmarks in fundraising, significantly increased diversity among the student body, and built a strong senior leadership team that he mentored closely.
Prior to his role at Holy Child, Tom served as Associate Head of School at Rosemont School of the Holy Child, where he oversaw day-to-day operations, led faculty development, and implemented a new faculty evaluation system. His work included a comprehensive overhaul of internal communications, a curriculum review for the Early Childhood program, and the creation of key strategic tools such as a Board Dashboard and a “Profile of a Graduate.”
Tom has held numerous other leadership positions, including Head of Upper School at The Haverford School (PA), Head of School at The Grosse Pointe Academy (MI), and Headmaster at Stuart Hall for Boys (CA). His accomplishments include eliminating AP courses in favor of deeper, elective-based learning; redesigning advisory systems; launching learning support services; and guiding schools through successful accreditation processes. Tom began his career at Delbarton School (NJ), where he taught U.S. History, coached athletics, and served as Director of Admissions and Financial Aid.
