I want again to express my profound and sincere thanks for all you have done throughout the search, Ben. For me, there was a special bond that developed among us. When we first met, you may recall that I emphasized we were looking for true partners in the search. That is exactly what we got. You were also an adviser, guide, cheerleader, traveler from remote places, and realist. Your patience inspired me, and you put up with the many demands I placed on you. You educated me about a world that was largely unfamiliar to me. You guided us to a successful conclusion. I would like to thank you for your friendship and all that you have done.

Both the content of Lawrence's talk and its presentation were transformational. His magic reignited my spirit and reminded me of the need to always, always strive for excellence and do our utmost to motivate our young wards,
I cannot wind down after this busy day without taking the opportunity to once again thank you and praise you for your "platinum" presentation at Palmer Trinity this morning. From the very start, I was transfixed! Both the content of your talk and its presentation were transformational. As a veteran teacher, I can feel a bit jaded at times. But your magic reignited my spirit and reminded me of the need to always, always strive for excellence and do our utmost to motivate our young wards, as well as each other. Sir, I offer my most sincere thanks! I hope to cross paths again.
You were able to pull through and present to us a very strong line up of final candidates that were all unique and strong in their own regard.
We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to you for your support in our head of school search process. We knew it would not be an easy task with the extremely tight timeframe we were facing but you were able to pull through and present to us a very strong line up of final candidates that were all unique and strong in their own regard. This in turn made our decision difficult, but you were always available to support our needs and give sound advice.
With an intense topic like implicit bias, Lawrence was able to guide us forward into a series of discussions that may otherwise have felt overwhelming. I would highly recommend him to any office.
Lawrence's thoughtfulness, intelligence, and charisma are really something special. He is able to walk a very delicate line of being both approachable, kind, and forgiving, as well as challenging and thought provoking. With an intense topic like implicit bias, he was able to guide us forward into a series of discussions that may otherwise have felt overwhelming. Lawrence has a special talent as moderator, teacher, and soundboard. In addition, his deep understanding of the college admission process meant that our work together could launch right into the heart of our challenges. I would highly recommend Lawrence to any office.
Lawrence was careful to tailor his activities and remarks to the needs we presented him and it was clear this wasn’t a cookie-cutter approach. The training was outstanding.
Lawrence was exceedingly organized, outlining from early on what the road map would look like leading up to and including our time together. He was careful to tailor his activities and remarks to the needs we presented him and it was clear this wasn’t a cookie-cutter approach. The training was outstanding. I learned so much from our time together, and the ways Lawrence presented topics made them understandable in a way that I can now take to others. The team was abuzz in the aftermath of Lawrence’s visit, excited to put into action what we learned. We would work with Lawrence again in a heartbeat. He was high energy all the way, keeping our team engaged the entire time despite the fact that we don’t all approach these issues from the same starting point.
I have never met a consultant who works harder on behalf of a school.
Thanks go to Amanda Riegel of Carney, Sandoe & Associates. She did a wonderful job first of learning a great deal about our school and then seeking out the candidates who were the best fit for us. I have never met a consultant who works harder on behalf of a school.
From our email introduction to meeting him in person, Lawrence was always energized and ready to work with our ideas of the presentation and provide much needed expert guidance in order to achieve our expectations and objectives.
From our email introduction to meeting him in person, Lawrence was always energized and ready to work with our ideas of the presentation and provide much needed expert guidance in order to achieve our expectations and objectives. He was always helpful from explaining and providing each step of preparation (staff survey, pre-reading materials, etc.). He was flexible, understanding, and patient with our timeline and deadlines.
There are so many areas which were developed regarding DEI topics and many staff members took away some valuable information they feel can be utilized in both their personal and professional life. The training was very interactive and activities kept the staff involved and made them “think” about things and topics they probably haven’t really experienced. Some of the staff members are still talking about how positive the training session was and kept Lawrence after the session to ask questions. If there is an opportunity to invite Lawrence back for continued education, I would strongly recommend him back on the TCU campus, whether it be for the Office of Admissions or within the campus community. I would also attend a session or presentation if he conducts at a TACAC/NACAC conference or another conference I attend. I would very much recommend Lawrence to other organizations.
Sarah and I have found Jennifer to be an absolute gem. She’s fun to work with and her expertise is tremendous.
Sarah and I have found Jennifer to be an absolute gem. She’s fun to work with and her expertise is tremendous. She carefully vetted the candidates up front and then followed up with the references incredibly well. So pleased that we took on this pioneering process together. We just hired a really super new counselor!
Your expertise, professionalism, and experience help different people (with different perspectives) find a common table around which all can gather and communicate. Thank you for your time, patience, and especially your dedication to the process.
I just wanted to send you a brief final note of gratitude. Conducting conversations and facilitating dialogue is what you do for a living but, for me as a witness, it takes on special significance. Your expertise, professionalism, and experience help different people (with different perspectives) find a common table around which all can gather and communicate. Thank you for your time, patience, and especially your dedication to the process. Your attention and professional acuity serve as life-giving sources to those of us who view this transition as not just important but urgent. We are grateful for your viewing STA not simply as another project but, as you said so well, an opportunity to find s/he who will best carry the Catholic mission forward.
Lawrence Alexander works beautifully with independent schools on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. His background as an independent school administrator, faculty member, and parent positions him uniquely to understand the most effective and lasting way to help schools bring about needed change. He believes it's important to start this work with the community you have rather than to wait for the community you would like to have. He draws on a wealth of resources as well as years of experience, and he brings his whole heart and mind to each community he helps. We have found him to be the perfect match for our DEI work at East Woods School.
I really enjoyed the process and couldn't be happier with the outcome.
