FORUM/Boston: 10 Last-Minute Questions

We are looking forward to seeing you in Boston tomorrow and Saturday for our biggest event of the year!

By now,  you should have logged into the conference module, blocked off your availability, sent messages to schools of interest, and kept tabs on your interview schedule.  But if you’re wondering about the details of tomorrow’s event, we can help.  Here are some final questions to help you in your last-minute preparations.

1. What do I need to do when I arrive at the Westin?

When you arrive at the Westin, you should follow signs for our event and for candidate registration.  When you check in, you’ll be given a nametag.  You can ask any questions about the day ahead when you check in.

2. Where do I go when I don’t have interviews?

There will be a separate room with tables and chairs designated solely for candidate use.  Many candidates choose to wait in this room, working quietly or researching schools as they prepare for interviews.

3. How will I know where to go for my interview?

Each school will be assigned a numbered table, and you can view table assignments through the module or on the big screens in front of the interview room.  You should locate the table at which you’re interviewing a few minutes before your interview time, then approach at the assigned time.

4. Will any interviews be added to my schedule once I arrive?

They could be.  Most schools pre-schedule interviews at this event, but sometimes cancellations or other circumstances cause schools to schedule interviews on-site.  For this reason, you should make sure to check the module frequently for any updates.

5. What should I bring?

Not a lot!  A (charged!) laptop or tablet, extra copies of your resume, and an arsenal of good questions.

6. Will there be a coatcheck?

Not via CS&A, but the hotel might be able to check your coat.  You should check with the concierge when you arrive.

7. What should I wear?

Business formal.  You should look professional and polished.

8. What if it snows?

It wouldn’t be the first time!  The event will go on.

9. What if I need to cancel for some reason?

You should call the emergency number sent to you AND send your placement associate an email.

10. Will I meet my placement associate?

We hope so!  All CS&A employees will be running around throughout the day, but we’d love to chat with you.  We will be wearing teal vests, so we’re easy to flag down.  Come introduce yourself!
