What are the qualifications?

The Science Placement Team works with teachers at every career stage, from recent college graduates to department chairs. Science is a high-demand subject area in independent schools, and we encourage you to apply for candidacy if your qualifications include:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in the area of science you wish to teach or in a related science
• Experience teaching children, particularly in an independent, private, boarding, college preparatory, or similar K-12 school setting
• Knowledge of 21st-century learning principles and techniques
• A willingness to contribute the hiring school's community outside of the classroom, such as coaching sports, advising extracurricular activities, supervising a dorm, etc.
• Work authorization in the U.S.
