Rayna Loeb Senior Consultant

Rayna has been a Senior Consultant with CS&A for more than two decades. During her 21 years of work with schools all over the U.S., from South Florida to Seattle, from California to New York, Rayna has created and maintained a multitude of personal and professional friendships with educators in independent schools and beyond. She has worked with a variety of independent schools throughout her tenure, including all grade levels, both day and boarding schools, both coeducational and single-sex schools. Rayna’s search work is primarily for head of school roles.

To date, Rayna has led 55 head of school searches, including Aspen Country Day School (CO), Brearley School (NY), Brentwood School (CA), Center for Early Education (CA), Colorado Academy, Hamlin School (CA), Hockaday School (TX), Isidore Newman School (LA), Katherine Delmar Burke School (CA), McDonogh School (MD), St. Anne’s Belfield School (VA), San Francisco Day School, and Saint Mary’s Hall (TX).

Previous Experience

Prior to joining CS&A, Rayna was in the arena of corporate executive search. Her prior firms include Sandhurst Associates, Korn Ferry International, and Spencer Stuart. The latter two are among the top global executive search firms today.

Her school leadership roles have included serving on the boards of trustees of Lamplighter School (TX) and Hockaday School (TX). Lamplighter is a coed toddler thru grade four early childhood school, where Rayna chaired the Governance Committee. Hockaday is a K-12, girls, day and boarding school, from which Rayna’s daughters graduated.

Rayna also has served on the board of trustees of Temple Emanuel in Dallas, where she chaired the Board Development Committee and also served on the Budget and Finance Committee and Membership Committee.

Education & Interests

Rayna graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, with a B.A. in sociology. She also obtained a M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Texas at Dallas. Additionally, she studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Austria.

Rayna and her husband, Michael, are parents of two daughters and have five grandchildren. They split their time between Denver and Dallas, and enjoy lots of travel in between. They are proud to have visited all 50 states, and are on a mission to visit every national park in the U.S.
